Welcome to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight tournament being held by the Guardians organization as a part of the GEL - Guardians eSports League. The GEL is a fundraising initiative for the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, and Guardians Indoor to assist in the financial strain from COVID-19, support the need for upgraded musical instruments and equipment, and to allow for the lowering of member dues. We thank you for helping contribute to our cause, and we hope you have a great time!
Players need to be 14 years old or older and represented by an adult in order to receive prize money. Merchandise prizes/Credit will be given to winning players under 13.
Players 17 years old and under will be required to sign a waiver, as well as have a parent sign the waiver.
Players 18+ must sign the waiver.
Entry Fee must be paid first:
You can purchase your entry at www.Guardiansdbc.org/GEL. You will receive a BattleFi entry code in an email within 24 hours of purchase.
Contact us through social media or discord if you run into any issues with your payment and turning in of forms.
Note that prices increase the week of the tournament by $5, and $10 for registrations within 48 hours.
It will be a double elimination tournament with each series being a best of 3. Each game will be first to win 6 rounds, with regular 2v2 Gunfight rules (Not O.S.P.). If there are 20 teams or more in the bracket, the Loser’s bracket games will be best of 1s.
If there is not an official GEL caster/moderator/host in the match. The team on top in the bracket will host the first game, and host will alternate each game.
The first game of each series will be played on King. After the first game, the map choice will be made by the losing team from the Map Pool of the tournament. If a team has already won on a map, they cannot pick that map again.
Map Pool: King, Pine, Speedball, Stack, Gulag Showers, Cargo, Docks
In the case that the Loser’s Bracket are best of 1s (if there are 20 or more teams), the map will rotate between Docks, King, and Speedball, alternating each round.
START TIME AND BREAKS:
Please check-in to the lobby 10 minutes before your first match. Tournament start times will be strictly enforced to ensure the tournament can finish on time. If you registered for the tournament but are not present to play your match within 5 minutes of the start time, you will receive a DQ for that game. Players can have a 5 minute break in between games, and again must be present at the end of the 5 minute break to start their game or receive a DQ.
It is highly recommended to form a team prior to the start of the league night (you may utilize our discord to find a team: https://discord.gg/fRZA2HU ). If you still do not have a team at the start of the tournament, we will place players into the bracket based on when people arrived, on a first-come first-serve basis
Under 32 teams signed up would mean a cross-platform tournament.
Over 32 teams signed up would mean Consoles and PC's will be separated into different bracket wings. All platforms would meet at the final four (PC VS. CON and PC VS. CON ----> Championship round: Winner VS. Winner). You will need to own the game and have online gaming capabilities(subscriptions+HighSpeed Wifi+console/PC/equipment).
DC AND COMPUTER ISSUES:
If a crash or DC occurs during a match, the game will be restarted maintaining the score at the time of the crash. If players intentionally cause DCs or computer issues they will be disqualified and possibly banned from all future tournaments.
Captains can report their team's score.
If time does not permit, any matches yet to be played will be cooperatively rescheduled by GEL in consultation of all players involved.
