Marie DeBellis is in her 18th year as a band director and color guard director in the state of Texas. She grew up in Port Orange, Florida and attended the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL) and graduated from Troy State University (Troy, AL) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music Education. Her performance experience in the marching arts include many years of high school and college marching band/winter guard/indoor percussion, and the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps Brassline (Soprano) in 2001. Marie started teaching color guard and band at Victoria Memorial High School (2003-2007) and is currently the Bryan High School Color Guard Director & Assistant Band Director (2007- present.) She has been a clinician, consultant, and technician throughout Central Texas for various programs and in various capacities, including several years with the Spirit Independent Winter Guard from Houston, Texas. She is also on the executive board for the Texas Color Guard Circuit where she has served as the treasurer for 12 years. Marie is looking forward to working with the Guardians Color Guard staff and members this summer!

Having grown up in Indianapolis, Jared learned a love for the performing arts at a very young age. Jared began his color guard career later in life while studying Music Education at Marian University. He later went on to perform with Zydeco Colorguard, O2 Color Guard, and Onyx. Jared has taught color guard at many Indianapolis area schools including Franklin Central H.S., Danville H.S., Ben Davis H.S., and Avon H.S.


Currently, Jared is the Director of Color Guard at Seven Lakes H.S. in Katy, TX and serves as Educational Director for Spirit Independent, an Open Class winter guard based in Houston. Jared is excited to be joining the Guardians Color Guard staff for the coming summer!




Caleb Brown, originally from Seagrove, NC, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with his BM in Music Education. As a performer, Caleb has performed with Aria Winterguard (2009-2012), First Flight World (2013-2014), and Cypress Independent (2017). He also had the joy of performing in the colorguard at the Madison Scouts in 2010.

As a teacher, Caleb has had the pleasure of serving as an intern at Spirit of Atlanta, as well as serving on the colorguard staff at the Cascades, Troopers, Mandarins, Colts, and Genesis. During the winter season, Caleb has been on staff with Identity Winterguard (2015-2016) and Spirit Independent (University of Houston, 2018-2019). He has also designed and taught for schools in North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Texas. Caleb currently lives in Houston, TX where he is pursuing his Masters degree in Public Health.




Jessie Trejo grew up in Bryan, Texas where she performed with the Bryan ISD Middle School and High School Color Guards from 2009-2014. After graduating high school she attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and minored in Museum Studies. She continued her performance career after high school with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps (2016-2017), and Spirit Independent Winter Guard (2016-2018.) She is currently an English teacher and the color guard director at Rudder High School in Bryan, Texas. She also teaches the Blinn College Color Guard in Brenham, TX and assists with the Bryan High School Color Guard. Jessie has plans to attain her masters and PhD in the near future. She is excited to work with the Guardians Color Guard this summer!



While Austin was born in Baton Rouge, LA, he has spent the majority of his adolescent and adult life as a Houston, TX resident, and considers himself a Texan by heart. His colorguard career began shortly after high school when he performed two seasons with Spirit Independent in 2016 and 2017. He then continued to march one season with the Santa Clara Vanguard color guard where they received the silver medal and the George Zingali best color guard award. After his drum corps experience, Austin spent one season performing with Black Gold World in 2019.

Austin is in his 4th year as a director and currently teaches at Stratford HS in Houston, TX. While he choreographs, deigns, and provides consultation to multiple other groups in the Houston area, he is currently on staff with Spirit Independent Winterguard and Black Gold Winterguard.




Chelsee attended Claudia Taylor Johnson High School where she marched in the marching color guard and winter guard from 2011-2015. After graduating, Cheslee went on to march the Santa Clara Drum and Bugle Corps from 2015-2019. She also marched winter guard at Spirit Independent in 2016, and Invictus World Winter Guard from 2017 to the present. Her teaching experience includes 5 years at Bryan High School from Bryan, Texas, as well as teaching multiple clinics/camps at both Invictus World and Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps.




Kellie Overton is excited to join the 2021 Guardians guard staff! 

Kellie’s passion for color guard began in middle school and high school as part of the Bryan High School Color Guard in Bryan, Texas. After graduating she continued her performance career with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps for three summers (2015-2017), Spirit Independent from the University of Houston (2016-2017), Black Gold World (2018) and CGT Dallas (2019-2020.) Kellie currently works as a special education instructional assistant and is in her sixth year teaching the color guard at Bryan High School.




Originally from North Arkansas, Landy now resides in Houston, TX. Landy Wyatt is currently the director at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, TX, as well as a choreographer and tech at Clements High School in Sugarland, TX. Previously, he has also been the director of Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, TX, choreographer for Brazoswood HS in Clute, TX, Waller HS in Waller, TX, Clear Springs HS in League City, TX, and Greenbriar HS in Greenbriar, AR. Landy marching performance includes four years in DCI with Crossmen’s Bones Colorguard (2015-2016) and the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps Color Guard (2017-2018), as well as 6 years of WGI including Pinnacle IA (2015), Aevitas IA (2016, Cypress IW (2017-2018), and Invictus World Guard (2019-2020).
